An amazing 8 days walking the Kokoda Track (Trail) with 100% Worldwide adventures. Norm was incredibly knowledgeable & his history on track added an extra dimension to our trek. A week I will never forget- tough but rewarding on so many levels. A special thanks to all our porters who looked after us so well too.

Fantastic company to do an adventure with. Recently completed Kokoda with Cam James and crew and I wasn't disappointed. Very professional and well organised. The logistics were well put together and nothing left to chance. The trek itself lived up to it's reputation. We experienced Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice at different level s and funnily enough all words enshrined on the war memorial at Isurava. I totally recommend Cam and his team as you will be in great hands.

We recently completed an 8 night/7-day Larapinta Walk The crew of 100% were outstanding from the moment we booked, to the day completed the trip. It was an unseasonal hot week, and some of the walks were modified, with our safety being paramount. The terrain is brutal and uncompromising, and must be respected. The landscape is stunning and mesmerizing, and never once did we tire of its beauty. Thanks to Nick and his team (Nicole, Chek, Liam, PK, Jamie, Ian, Ninga, Billy, Claudia) for an unforgettable experience. Moves are afoot to join you on a Base camp walk next year!! I cannot speak highly enough of 100%wwa and would highly recommend them to anyone. 😀

We got to meet the elder of the local community and hear about song lines and culture. we covered nearly half of the spectacular Larapinta Trail in a week with day packs . Practically everything was covered from the moment we got off the plane.

IMPORTANT INFO

The 100% Kilimanjaro Difference

You pay in Australia Dollars
With us being Australian-owned and operated means that you will buy our adventures in AUD.

This means that you are protected by Australian Consumer Laws and your African adventure is not balanced against a moving USD market. The fee you are quoted to climb Kilimanjaro and/or complete a safari is the fee you pay.

Everything’s Included
At 100% Kilimanjaro, all fees are included. You will not be hit with any other expenses besides the things you want when you are in Africa or on your Safari, like snacks and souvenirs. Your fee even covers tipping, so there is no awkwardness trying to work out how much to tip and there are no surprise and unexpected costs.

You’re Chaperoned – Chaperoned or Locally Led?
On all of our Chaperoned African treks and safaris you will have an Australian Chaperone to be the glue between you and our expert team on the ground. We will meet you at the airport, and we are with you for your entire journey. You are never alone and always have that friendly Australian face with you to make you feel safe and valued.

Kilimanjaro Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you seem so expensive compared to other companies?
Yes, we are and there is a very good reason too! When you look at other companies that facilitate treks in Tanzania, they charge in US Dollars, not in Australian Dollars, which we do. When you book with us, because you are paying in AUD, you are protected by Australian Consumer Law, plus, the cost of your adventure isn’t assessed against a sliding US dollar market. In our packages, we’ve also included every cost that you would expect to pay, like transportation and tips! Tipping is expected in Tanzania and is at a high rate. You would expect to pay several hundred Australian dollars in tips for your adventure, we have included this into the cost and pay this on your behalf, this prevents you having to work out who to pay and at what rate.

Added to this, on our Australian Chaperoned Treks, you pay for one of our Australian team to be with you for the entirety of your adventure. They meet you at the airport and show you around Moshi, helping you and taking you to all of the stores that we recommend to buy any last-minute items you may need. Then, they walk the trek with you and do all of the liaison for you. This is why on the surface, our treks seem more expensive than our competitors.

How do I book a trek?
Just head to the ‘Dates’ section and select the adventure you’d like to book.

To book you will pay a 20% deposit of the full trek price. Please note that your deposit is non-refundable, but it is transferrable to another trek should you have to change trek dates. The balance of your payment will be due eight weeks prior to your trek. The deposit is non-refundable because it pays for the facilitation of your administration and your balance is due so far in advance so that we can pay for the services you require for your trek.

Do you have an age limit?
We don’t have an ‘age limit’ but what we would do if you have younger children or you are older is have a discussion and work with you. We’re not the ‘gate keepers’ and never tell people they can or can’t do something. We just guide you and let you make the best decision for you! The main thing that we will discuss with you is the fact that you will be on your feet for up to eight to ten hours a day, on consecutive days and at altitude. If you think this is ok, then we’re waiting to help take you!

How fit do I need to be?
Although a standard level of fitness is advised, you don’t need to be a super athlete. If you’re a generally active person, you’ll do great! If you’re still concerned about your fitness, reach out and talk to us about our training program, created by Personal Trainers, former soldiers and lifelong adventurers!

What if I change my mind and can no longer trek?
You will see the full refund policy on this page. This details your options should you change your mind or can no longer trek.

Do you organise travel for us?
Whilst we don’t facilitate your travel to and from Tanzania, we work closely with an agent that knows what you will need. They’re able to book your flights and organise your travel insurance for you. They then send copies of this information to us, so this is one less thing you have to do.

How many people will be on my trek?
This varies, but you could expect to have not more than around 12 people on our group treks. We find this number is intimate enough that you don’t get lost, but big enough that you can find your own space when you want this too.

What is the accommodation like?
In Moshi, you will be in a 4-star hotel (twin share) and on the trail you will be camping in your own tent.

What if I don’t want twin share accommodation?
You’re able to purchase a single supplement at the time of booking.

What and where will I eat on the trail?
Our team take a kitchen tent which is erected for you every day. This is complete with tables and chairs for your comfort. You will have a range of meal choices to suit all diets, allergies and or intolerances.

If you have an allergy, intolerance or preference, your medical questionnaire will detail this and we will work with you so the trekking and kitchen staff know what they can prepare for your meals.

What about drinking water?

At camp well is water provided that has been boiled and sterilised for drinking. You are encouraged to take cordial or flavour altering drops as the steri solution can leave a slight taste. You will always have ample drinking water

What is the toilet situation?

Toilets are camp toilets – these are carried up the mountain by the porters and are cleaned and sterilised each morning.

Where can I wash?

Every morning and most nights the staff will place a bowl of warm water outside your tent for you to have a ‘bird bath’. Outside of this it is wet wipes as there are no showers along the way.

I am unsure how I will handle walking at altitude, do you have anything to assist me?

We carry a Pulse Oximeter – Readings are taken every night before going to bed. In addition to this we have emergency oxygen which is carried by our Guides

What administration do I need to complete to be ready to travel?
When you book, we send you a letter which details the initial things we need you to do. When this is returned to us, we send you a full set of instructions including dates of flights, pre-travel covid vaccine proof requirements, visa applications, transportation in Tanzania, your hotel and what you equipment you need to bring with you.

As a part of this is a risk waiver and a medical questionnaire that needs to be facilitated by a physician. We need a copy of your travel insurance and you’re all set.

This may sound like a lot, but it’s pretty easy and we help you along the way!

Why do I need travel insurance to travel with you?
It is a mandatory requirement that all participants on one of our adventures have travel insurance. Travel insurance not only protects you from theft and cancelled flights, but it means that if you become ill or are injured, we can evacuate you to the nearest suitable medical facility, where they pay for your treatment. Furthermore, in extreme cases, your travel insurer will pay for your return to Australia. It is for this reason why travel insurance in mandatory. Note: In order for the best protection of your adventure, we recommend you obtain your travel insurance as soon as you book your trek with us. In the event something happens, your insurance protects your booking

I don’t want to trek with a group, I want to trek alone, can you help?
Yes, we can! Whilst the cost to do this will be more than a group rate, we can facilitate your travel should you want to go by yourself with a guide. If this is what you want, get in touch, we’re here to assist you.

Do I need to be vaccinated?
100% Kilimanjaro holds no stance on whether you should be vaccinated, but both the Australian and Tanzanian Governments do. For this reason, if you’re not fully vaccinated, you may not be able to trek. The conversation is best to be had between you and your GP or Travel Doctor. It is your responsibility to check if you’re able to travel to Tanzania if you are not vaccinated.
